I’m being realistic. Between all of these “Fuck Yeah Americuh” posts I’ve been seeing a lot, from government officials, that have the underlying message to Americans overseas to be extra careful. Do you not UNDERSTAND that one freaking death will not CHANGE terrorists?! They will still react with bombs and violence, just as we have. This is no way to promote the peace and education that overcomes these problems.
I am not excited to hear soon that the extra violence in the Middle East means my brother’s tour has to start earlier than expected. I am not excited to hear about the inevitable attacks against Americans. I repeat, one fucking person does not change an entire terrorist organization. If Obama was killed, Americans would still respond. The same thing is happening here.
I am praying extra hard for the troops in the Middle East right now… they need it more than all of these stupid ‘Woo we’re amazing. USA!’ Why do we only unite over deaths?
